Leeds United are battling with Scottish giants Rangers for the signature of former Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers man Steven Caulker, according to the Daily Mirror (Live Transfer blog, 08/08, 08:48).
The 26-year-old is currently playing his football in the Scottish Premier League with Dundee but the Mirror reports that Leeds are hoping to convince him to come back to England for just £1.5m.
Caulker has one cap for England and came through the ranks at Spurs before signing for Cardiff and then QPR. He has also spent loan spells with Southampton, Liverpool and other Premier League and Championship clubs.
After suffering with depression, the centre-back has now got his career back on track following his release by QPR. He has now made 16 appearances for Dundee, scoring one goal and providing three assists during that time.
From the reaction of Leeds fans on Twitter it is clear that they are keen for the club to sign Caulker and believe that Bielsa is the man to get him back to his best. Check out some of the best tweets below.
